Who can take part
- You are a Black or African American man age 18 or older
- You have a past or current history of prostate cancer (localized, metastatic, or locally recurrent)
- Your recent vitamin D level is below 30 ng/mL
- You have not had chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation in the last 3 weeks
- You do not have kidney failure requiring dialysis, liver cirrhosis, or a history of high blood calcium (hypercalcemia)
- You are not already taking vitamin D or multivitamins with more than 400 IU (10 mcg) of vitamin D per day for at least the past month
