This trial studies how the bacteria in your gut (“microbiome”) relate to frailty (weakness/low physical resilience) in people with HIV who are stably doing well on treatment. It may help researchers understand why some people become frail and how the gut may play a role.

Who can take part
- You’re living with HIV and it’s stable, with no major treatment changes for the last 3 months
- Your HIV viral load has been very low (at or below 50 copies/mL) for at least 5 years, with only small “blips” under 200 copies/mL
- You are 55 years old or older
- Your lowest past CD4 level (“nadir”) was above 200 cells/mm³
- You have regular outpatient follow-up at the participating clinic, not only full hospital stays
- In the 2 months before stool testing, you did NOT take antibiotics, probiotics, prebiotics, or other gut-microbiome–changing treatments
