Axitinib plus pembrolizumab for first metastatic kidney cancer

Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma Type 2

Treatments studied

Part of Cancer clinical trials.

This Phase 2 trial studies whether combining axitinib and pembrolizumab can shrink and control metastatic or inoperable type 2 or mixed papillary kidney cancer. It may help by blocking cancer growth signals and boosting the immune system to attack the cancer.

Study of two immunotherapy drugs plus lenvatinib or axitinib for kidney cancer

This trial tests a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (iparomlimab and tuvonralimab) plus either lenvatinib or axitinib for people with advanced clear cell kidney cancer that continued to grow after the first treatment. The goal is to see if this new combination can shrink tumors or slow the cancer's growth.

NCT05287464Recruiting
Study for metastatic kidney cancer treatments combinations

This trial studies people with advanced (metastatic) kidney cancer who are starting a specific set of first-line treatment combinations (including drugs like nivolumab, pembrolizumab, or avelumab, paired with targeted medicines). It may help improve how these treatment plans work for different types of kidney cancer.

NCT05817903Recruiting· Phase 2
Nivolumab with or without axitinib after prior nivolumab

This Phase 2 trial studies whether adding axitinib to nivolumab (or giving nivolumab alone) can better control advanced clear-cell kidney cancer after standard initial treatment with nivolumab plus ipilimumab. It may help by extending response or slowing tumor growth while improving how long treatment works.

Envafolimab plus axitinib for first-line advanced kidney cancer

This trial tests a new combination of an immunotherapy (Envafolimab) with a targeted therapy pill (Axitinib) as the first treatment for advanced kidney cancer. The goal is to see if this combination works better than standard treatments.

Test axitinib plus immunotherapy before kidney cancer surgery

This study tests whether taking axitinib plus an immunotherapy drug (PD-1) before surgery can help people with kidney cancer live longer without the cancer coming back. It’s focused on people who have a higher-risk kidney tumor based on scans and pathology findings.

NCT05969496Recruiting· Phase 2
Pembrolizumab plus axitinib before kidney surgery for RCC with IVC tumor

This Phase 2 trial tests whether pembrolizumab plus axitinib can shrink kidney cancer before surgery, when there is tumor growth into the inferior vena cava (IVC). It may help make the operation easier and improve chances of long-term control.
