This study uses a special scan (FCH-PET-CT) to help doctors see prostate cancer more clearly in men who have a known gene change involved in DNA repair. It’s meant to improve staging and assessment, especially around when imaging is needed.

Who can take part

  • You are a man age 18 or older
  • You have a confirmed inherited (germline) “DNA repair” gene mutation (BRCA1, BRCA2, MSH2, MSH6, MLH1, PMS2, CHEK2, PALB2, or ATM)
  • You have prostate cancer and it’s time for staging imaging (new diagnosis, certain PSA changes after treatment, or active surveillance with fast PSA rise)
  • You do not have prostate cancer that has spread (metastatic disease)
  • You have not had cancer treatments in the last 6 months, and you are not taking investigational (study) drugs
  • You can safely have an MRI (no certain implants/metal clips, and you’re not too claustrophobic)
