Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older
  • Your tumor is in the pancreas head/nearby area (duodenum or ampulla) and may include certain pancreatic cysts with cancer
  • Your cancer team plans surgery with the goal of fully removing the tumor, and they agree this fits the study
  • You are considered high risk for a postoperative pancreatic fistula based on tests before surgery and a risk score checked during surgery
  • You can have major abdominal surgery and do not have conditions that would make it unsafe (including certain diabetes or major health limitations)
  • You can follow study procedures, provide written consent, and (if applicable) use reliable contraception and do required pregnancy testing
