Who can take part
- You have (or are suspected to have) periampullary cancer and you are scheduled for Whipple or pylorus-preserving Whipple surgery
- You are high risk for a post-surgery pancreatic leak: your pancreas is “soft” and your pancreatic duct is smaller than 3 mm before/ during surgery
- No other procedure is planned at the same time as your Whipple/PPPD surgery
- You do not have certain infections or immune concerns: HIV, hepatitis C antibodies, or active hepatitis B markers
- You are not currently enrolled in another clinical trial within the past 4 weeks and you can follow the study plan
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding (and if you can get pregnant, you must meet specific contraception/menopause requirements)
