Testing a night breathing machine setting for muscle-nerve disease

Motor Neuron Disease / Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

Part of Brain & nervous system, Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This study helps find the best night-time settings for a non-invasive breathing support device (a machine that helps breathing without a tube). It may help people with motor neurone disease start long-term breathing support more comfortably and effectively.

Home sleep testing after starting noninvasive breathing support

This study checks breathing/sleep measurements done at home for people who recently started a machine that helps them breathe without an endotracheal tube. It may help the team confirm how well home monitoring works after hospital setup of this breathing support.

Early ventilation study for newly diagnosed ALS

This trial tests whether starting non-invasive ventilation (breathing support) early in ALS helps people breathe easier and live better. If you've been diagnosed with ALS in the last 6 months and haven't used a breathing machine before, you may qualify.

Breathing patterns during nighttime NIV

This study looks at how people breathe while using their nighttime breathing machine (NIV). It helps doctors understand breathing patterns better for people with COPD or OHS.

Home vs hospital NIV care for MND

This study compares two ways of starting non-invasive ventilation (NIV) — a breathing machine — for people with motor neurone disease (MND). It aims to see if starting NIV at home is as safe and effective as starting it in the hospital.

Long-term monitoring of breathing support at home for Duchenne patients

This study follows adults with Duchenne muscular dystrophy who use a breathing machine (non-invasive ventilation or NIV) at home. It aims to track their health over time to improve care.
