Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be in the emergency room or admitted to the hospital within 12 hours of starting the study
  • Have sudden breathing trouble that started within the last 7 days, along with needing more oxygen
  • Agree to join the study (you or your legal health care proxy must consent)
  • Be able to do lung sound checks using a stethoscope on at least 12 spots
