Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) for sudden breathing problems
  • You are getting one of these breathing treatments: high-flow nasal cannula, non-invasive ventilation (like BiPAP or CPAP), or a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation)
  • You started the breathing treatment within the last 48 hours
  • You were not transferred from another hospital
