UGT1A1-guided irinotecan for locally advanced rectal cancer

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed by biopsy with rectal adenocarcinoma (a common type of rectal cancer)
  • Your cancer is stage T3 or T4 and/or lymph nodes are positive, and your plan includes nCRT (chemoradiation)
  • Your scans show no distant metastases (no spread to far-away organs)
  • You need to have tumor tissue taken for testing during the study
  • You are 18 to 75 years old, and your general health is good enough (ECOG 0 to 2)
  • Your UGT1A1 gene test shows either *6 or *28, and you can follow the study plan and sign consent
