Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older, and can attend as an outpatient or inpatient with non-critical illness
  • You either have no adrenal insufficiency diagnosis, or you have confirmed or suspected adrenal insufficiency (based on your medical evaluation)
  • If you have adrenal insufficiency, you’re currently taking normal “replacement” steroid doses
  • You are not pregnant or nursing
  • You have no moderate-to-severe liver problems and no kidney problems (eGFR must be 60 or higher, and no nephrotic syndrome)
  • You meet medication and health exclusions (for example: no biotin in the last 72 hours, no recent steroid use for healthy volunteers, and no certain liver-affecting drugs or alcohol/cannabis use)
