Who can take part
- Be able to speak and read French and consent to the study
- Have a BMI showing obesity (at least BMI 30; higher BMI needed for bariatric-surgery eligibility)
- Be scheduled for evaluation and treatment at the IUCPQ Obesity Clinic and BED evaluation at the CEPIA
- If you’re in the BED group: your BED-7 screening must be positive and your binge-eating score must be above 16
- If you’re in the control group: your BED-7 screening must be negative and your binge-eating score must be below 12
- Be able to do computer/iPad and complete online tasks and visits; have reliable Internet access
