Who can take part

  • You’re 50 to 80 years old.
  • You have heart failure with preserved pumping (EF 50% or higher) and moderate or severe diastolic dysfunction.
  • Your symptoms are NYHA Class II–III, or your BNP blood test is 100 or higher.
  • You take a loop diuretic every day (a “water pill”), and you’re currently taking a beta-blocker.
  • Your resting heart rate is 100 beats per minute or lower, and you haven’t been hospitalized for heart failure in the last 3 months.
