Who can take part
- Be over 18 years old
- Be in hospital within the last 12 hours because of suspected or confirmed infection
- Have low blood pressure right now (systolic under 90 or mean arterial pressure under 65) within about 1 hour of screening
- Have an elevated lactate level (more than 2 mmol/L) measured around 2 hours before eligibility, if possible
- You have not already had a lot of IV fluids (more than 1500 ml) before screening
