Who can take part
- You have confirmed stomach, gastroesophageal junction, or esophagus cancer that is advanced and not removable by surgery, or has spread to other places
- Your cancer has a measurable or assessable tumor on scans, and you can have a biopsy of a tumor spot (or the study doctor can waive this after discussion)
- You have not had prior cancer medicines for advanced/unresectable stomach or esophageal cancer (some earlier treatments may be allowed if they were done far enough in advance)
- If your tumor is stomach adenocarcinoma, you must have known HER2 test results; HER2 status matters for which treatment group you enter
- You are at least 18 years old and your overall health tests show enough blood counts, liver/kidney function, and heart pumping ability (for a specific group)
- You can safely take the study drugs based on heart rhythm (QTc), lung health, pregnancy prevention, and other medication restrictions
