Who can take part

  • You are a woman aged 18 or older.
  • You have a benign breast tumor or early-stage breast cancer that hasn't spread to lymph nodes, and you are scheduled for surgery to remove it.
  • OR you have invasive breast cancer (at least 4 mm in size) and your doctor recommends systemic therapy (like chemotherapy) before surgery.
  • You have not received laser or radiation therapy to the affected breast.
  • You do not have breast implants.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If you may receive an ultrasound contrast agent, you must not have a history of allergy to products like Definity or polyethylene glycol (PEG).
