Remote arm treatment to protect the heart during chemo

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older and have NHL, HL, or breast cancer.
  • Your planned chemotherapy includes anthracyclines totaling at least 240 mg per square meter (mg/m²).
  • Your heart ultrasound before starting chemo shows an ejection fraction above 40%.
  • You have at least one heart-damage risk factor (such as prior heart artery disease, high blood pressure, kidney disease, smoking history, obesity, diabetes, or others listed by the study).
  • You cannot have certain exclusions, such as a prior heart failure diagnosis or permanent atrial fibrillation.
  • You must be able to do follow-up visits and give consent; also you should not have severe claustrophobia or certain implanted devices that make MRI unsafe.
