This trial compares two ways to deliver a shoulder nerve block to relieve long-lasting shoulder pain after stroke: one guided by ultrasound and one without. It may help if your stroke-related shoulder pain has lasted at least a few months and you may benefit from a targeted pain-relief injection.

Who can take part
- You have stroke-related (hemiplegic) shoulder pain that has lasted 3 months or more
- When a clinician gently moves your affected shoulder, your pain score is more than 3 out of 10
- You can do basic thinking/memory screening, with a test score of 24 or higher
- You do not have uncontrolled diabetes or a bleeding/clotting problem (coagulopathy)
- You have not had botulinum toxin injections in the last 6 months and no shoulder-region injections in the last 6 months
- You have no known allergy (hypersensitivity) to the medicines used in the injection
