Who can take part
- You are 18 to 80 years old
- You have shoulder pain on the weaker side that rates higher than 3 on a 0-to-10 pain scale
- It has been at least 1 month since your stroke
- You can lift your weak-side arm forward above 90 degrees (past shoulder height)
- This is your first stroke, and it affected only one side
- You do not have major memory issues, trouble speaking, or severe shoulder stiffness or other shoulder problems like frozen shoulder or arthritis
