Lower blood-thinner dose after heart attack for high bleeding risk

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • Your heart attack was a type caused by a blocked heart artery (Type 1 MI) and you had a stent placed (drug-eluting stent) using PCI
  • Your bleeding risk score (PRECISE-DAPT) is 25 or higher
  • You can take aspirin and a P2Y12 blood thinner (and you’re not allergic to them)
  • You do NOT need long-term blood thinners taken by mouth for another reason
  • You don’t have current active bleeding or a history of bleeding in the brain
