Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You are right-handed
  • You are scheduled for surgery that uses propofol as the main IV anesthesia
  • You cannot be allergic to propofol, soy, or peanuts
  • Your body mass index (BMI) must be between 20 and 30
  • You must be able to have an EEG helmet placed and allow the EEG (brain recording) to be collected
