Who can take part
- For providers: You must be an active anesthesiologist or certified nurse anesthetist currently working
- For providers: You haven't had formal training in reading EEG for anesthesia in the past year
- For providers: You can access a computer or tablet with internet for online training modules
- For patients: You're 60 years or older and scheduled for elective (non-emergency) surgery lasting at least 2 hours
- For patients: Your overall health is stable enough for surgery (ASA status I, II, or III)
- For patients: You have healthy skin on your forehead where EEG sensors can be placed
