This study tests whether adding focused radiation to a targeted cancer pill works better than the pill by itself. It is for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumor has an EGFR or ALK/ROS driver mutation and who have not gotten worse after starting the targeted pill.

Who can take part

  • Have non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) confirmed by biopsy or pathology report
  • Have a tumor mutation in EGFR or ALK/ROS (not negative for these)
  • Have been on a targeted TKI pill for about 2–4 months and your cancer has not progressed
  • Have limited spread: 1–5 metastatic sites away from the main tumor and nearby lymph nodes
  • Be able to safely receive focused radiation to the involved areas and continue the TKI pill
  • Have certain blood counts from within 15 days: neutrophils ≥500, platelets ≥50,000, and hemoglobin ≥8.0 (transfusion allowed to reach the number)
