Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 70 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (not type 1).
  • Your recent diabetes blood test (HbA1c) is between 6.5% and 9.5%.
  • Your fasting blood sugar is not too high (different limits depending on whether you take diabetes pills).
  • You can take part if you are not on diabetes medicine, or if your diabetes pills and dose have been stable for 3 months.
  • Your BMI is 45 or less, and you agree to the study by signing consent.
