Who can take part

  • You are 19 to 75 years old.
  • You have type 2 diabetes for at least 12 weeks and have not taken any diabetes pills or insulin for at least 5 weeks (or never took them for 12 weeks).
  • Your HbA1c is between 7.0% and 11.0%, and your fasting blood sugar is 250 mg/dL or lower.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 20 and 35.
  • You do not have serious heart, pancreas, kidney, or liver problems, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
