Who can take part
- You have type 2 diabetes for at least 12 weeks.
- You haven't taken any diabetes medicine in the last 12 weeks.
- Your hemoglobin A1c (a measure of blood sugar over 2-3 months) is between 7.0% and 10.5% at the start of the study.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is 22.5 or higher.
- You do not have a history of certain thyroid cancers or pancreas problems.
- You have not had serious low blood sugar episodes or certain diabetes-related emergencies in the last 6 months.
