This study looks at how the body’s metabolism changes after eating a high-fat meal, comparing differences between sexes. If you meet the health, diet, and medication rules, you may be asked to fast and have blood tests before and after the meal.

Who can take part

  • Your body weight is in a normal-to-overweight range (BMI 18.5 to 30)
  • Your weight has stayed about the same for at least 6 months (within 2 kg)
  • You exercise no more than the usual Canadian activity guidelines
  • Your fasting blood sugar is below 6.0 mM
  • Your usual blood pressure is below 140/90
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you’re fully vaccinated for COVID-19
