Who can take part
- Be generally healthy with no diseases affecting the whole body or specific organs (including diabetes)
- Not smoke and not take medicines other than birth control pills
- No history of eating disorders
- Have blood test results showing hematocrit above 35% (a measure related to red blood cells)
- Use effective birth control (or be abstinent) if you can become pregnant, and if applicable be within days 0–7 of your menstrual cycle
- Not have high triglycerides (fat in the blood over 100 mg/dL) and have no lactose intolerance; no blood clotting or blood-count problems
- Not do regular exercise already (study wants mostly sedentary people) and be able to remove any metal implants/body piercings for MRI scans
