Who can take part
- You have AML (not a relapse) and you’re in molecular remission, or you have high-risk AML awaiting an unrelated transplant
- Your or your child’s daily functioning is fairly good (Karnofsky/Lansky score 70 or higher)
- You must be able to give informed consent (and follow consent rules for minors if needed)
- There is a family donor available who matches “haploidentical” (half-matched)
- The patient must not have uncontrolled infection, and the liver blood tests must not be very elevated
- Neither the patient nor donor can have HIV; the donor also can’t have hepatitis B or C, and can’t be pregnant
