Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma confirmed by tissue testing (biopsy).
  • Your rectal tumor is low: the lower edge is 5 cm or less from the anus.
  • Your cancer scans/staging suggest no distant spread (M0).
  • Your tumor testing shows “MSS/PMMR” (not MSI-high or mismatch-repair deficient).
  • You can have MRI (or similar scans used in the treatment planning) and you’re well enough for treatment (performance score 0–1).
  • You have not started prior anti-cancer treatment for this cancer (no prior surgery/radiation/chemo/immunotherapy).
