Who can take part

  • You can give informed consent (or your legal representative can), and you’re age 18 or older.
  • You have HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer that has spread to the brain (brain metastases).
  • You can do treatment activities rated ECOG 0–2 (generally: fully active to limited but able to care for yourself).
  • Your heart function is good enough for treatment (left ventricular ejection fraction over 50%) and you do not have certain recent or unstable heart problems.
  • Your blood counts and organ labs are within limits: ANC > 1.5, platelets > 100, hemoglobin > 9, and kidney/liver tests meet thresholds.
  • You’re scheduled to start fam-trastuzumab deruxtecan and you have at least one brain lesion over 1.5 cm on MRI (unless excluded for needing urgent local treatment).
