Who can take part
- You have rectal adenocarcinoma (a type of rectal cancer).
- Your tumor can be measured on scans, and it is stage II or III based on pelvic MRI/ultrasound.
- There is no sign that the cancer has spread to distant organs on CT scans of the chest and abdomen.
- The tumor is located within 0 to 15 cm from the anus, as checked during a proctoscopy.
- You are well enough to take part (general condition score of 0–2).
- Your recent blood tests and organ function (kidneys/liver) are in a safe range, and you can provide pregnancy test (if applicable).
