Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma (a type of rectal cancer).
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- Your tumor is locally advanced (stage cT3-T4N0 or cTxN+) and has not spread to other organs.
- The tumor is within 10 cm (about 4 inches) from the anal opening.
- You have not had prior chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy for this cancer.
- You do not have major health problems like uncontrolled heart disease, active infections, or autoimmune diseases.
