Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma (a type of rectal cancer).
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • Your tumor is locally advanced (stage cT3-T4N0 or cTxN+) and has not spread to other organs.
  • The tumor is within 10 cm (about 4 inches) from the anal opening.
  • You have not had prior chemotherapy, radiation, or immunotherapy for this cancer.
  • You do not have major health problems like uncontrolled heart disease, active infections, or autoimmune diseases.
