Platform study for atrial fibrillation ablation care and research

Atrial Fibrillation

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study sets up a research “platform” to improve and compare care for people having atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) treated with ablation. Some patients may be asked for extra imaging or heart-mapping tests during their care, and your eligibility may depend on which extra tests are offered.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation
  • Your doctor is planning an AF ablation (catheter, surgical, hybrid, during heart surgery, or a redo ablation)
  • You can and are willing to sign informed consent
  • Nothing should prevent you from following the study plan (for example, you can’t reliably attend required visits/tests)
  • This is not for emergency procedures

NCT05617456Recruiting
Test new ablation technology for treating irregular heart rhythm

This study tests advanced technology to improve how atrial fibrillation (AFib) is treated with a heart ablation procedure. It may help patients who are already advised to have AFib ablation by seeing how well the approach works in real clinical practice.

Pisa
NCT05111015Recruiting
Ablation tracking study for people with atrial fibrillation

This study tracks results after a heart ablation procedure used to treat atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm). You may be asked to help by consenting and following the study plan so the researchers can better understand what happens after ablations.

NCT04281329Recruiting
CT and heart MRI add-on for atrial fibrillation ablation

This trial studies whether CT scans and heart MRI scans (done around the time of atrial fibrillation ablation) can help care planning and results. It may help your team better understand your heart before and after the procedure.

Paris
NCT06061120Recruiting
Heart rhythm study for ablation patients

This study uses a special ECG to better tell apart different types of fast heart rhythms in people scheduled for a procedure called ablation. The goal is to improve diagnosis and treatment for conditions like atrial fibrillation and other supraventricular tachycardias.

NCT06324188Recruiting
Early ablation for afib to prevent stroke in high-risk patients

This trial tests whether an early procedure (catheter ablation) for atrial fibrillation (AF) can prevent strokes in people with a high risk of stroke. The goal is to see if this treatment is safer and more effective than standard care for patients with other health conditions.

NCT04947657Recruiting
Atrial fibrillation blood and heart scan pilot during ablation

This study looks at blood-related “clotting” signs and heart scan results in people with atrial fibrillation (AF) who are getting a catheter ablation. It may help doctors better understand AF and choose treatments more precisely.
