Who can take part

  • You have either frozen shoulder symptoms for over a month (pain plus limited motion), OR ongoing stiffness after shoulder surgery, OR you had a past procedure to loosen adhesions or manipulate the joint.
  • Frozen shoulder group: your arm rotates outward 30° or less with your arm at your side.
  • Frozen shoulder group: your arm lifts forward no more than 130°.
  • You must have had a cortisone shot for all participants.
  • You should not have had any prior shoulder surgery (for the frozen shoulder group), and you cannot have shoulder infection, rheumatoid arthritis, or other causes of stiffness/pain like major structural injury or full-thickness rotator cuff tear.
