Who can take part
- You have MDS (per WHO criteria) that is very low-, low-, or intermediate-risk based on a scoring system (IPSS-R).
- Your bone marrow has less than 5% blasts.
- Your anemia is symptomatic, and your body does not require regular red-blood-cell transfusions (non-transfusion dependence).
- Your epoetin level (sEPO) is 500 mU/mL or lower, and your white blood cell count is under 13,000 per microliter.
- You must be able to do study procedures: bone marrow and regular blood draws, and give luspatercept injections under the skin every 3 weeks.
