Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are having a planned surgery to remove a blood clot (embolus or thrombus) using an embolectomy/thrombectomy catheter.
- You must be able to give informed consent (agree to join after learning about the study).
- You have a diagnosed blood clot.
- You either tried a clot-busting medicine (thrombolysis) and it did not work, or that medicine is not safe for you to use.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you usually cannot join; also, you must not be unable to read or write.
- You must not have immune system problems that could affect the study results. (This is decided by the study doctor.)
