Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 90 years old.
  • You had a stroke caused by a clot in a major blood vessel in the front part of your brain.
  • You can start the clot-removal procedure (groin puncture) within 24 hours after you were last seen healthy.
  • Your stroke symptoms are at least moderately severe (NIHSS score of 6 or higher).
  • Brain imaging (CT or MRI) shows no sign of a major bleed, old clot, or mass effect that would complicate treatment.
