This study looks at how children with vestibular (balance) and/or hearing loss learn to read. It may help researchers understand what reading supports work best for children who have trouble with balance and sound processing.

Who can take part
- Be a child who scores in the typical range on a nonverbal problem-solving test (about 77 to 123).
- If hearing is normal: hearing test results must be within 20 decibels from 0.25 to 8 kHz.
- If hearing loss: average hearing level must be more than 65 decibels on the hearing test.
- Vision must pass a vision screening (at least 20/30).
- Not have autism, blindness, major eye problems, cerebral palsy, serious brain/nerve problems, uncorrectable vision issues, or an intellectual disability.
- Not take certain medicines that can slow eye movements or movement (like some sedatives or “vestibular suppressants”).
