Who can take part
- You are 70 years old or older with a new (newly diagnosed) glioblastoma
- Your diagnosis happened within the last 4 weeks before you would be randomized
- You had an MRI with contrast (gadolinium) within 72 hours after brain surgery
- You know your O6-methylguanine-DNA-methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation test result
- Your day-to-day functioning score (Karnofsky) is 60 or higher, and your steroid dose is stable or going down
- You can begin radiation within 3 weeks after randomization and have blood, kidney, and liver tests that are sufficient for temozolomide
