Who can take part
- You must be an adult (18 or older).
- You must have septic shock diagnosed recently (within 48 hours before starting the study).
- Your blood lactate level must be high (>2 mmol/L) even after fluids have been given.
- Your blood pressure support medicines (like norepinephrine and/or vasopressin) must be needed for at least 6 hours to keep blood pressure up.
- You need central IV access and an arterial line, and these must stay in place for the first 48 hours.
- A doctor must agree the infection source is treated or actively being treated, and you (or your legal representative) must be able to consent.
