  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a replacement (prosthetic) heart valve.
  • Your doctors suspect a heart valve infection (endocarditis) based on symptoms, lab tests, cultures, and/or imaging.
  • Your case has been reviewed in a hospital endocarditis team meeting.
  • You can sign a free, informed consent form in writing.
  • You are covered by a social security health insurance plan.
