Who can take part

  • Be an adult older than 20 years old
  • Have major trauma with an injury severity score of 9 or higher
  • Be admitted to the ICU for your injuries
  • You must not have chronic (long-term) liver disease
  • You must be able to receive nutrition through the gut/enteral feeding plan
  • You should not have high blood calcium (hypercalcemia) or a high risk of it
  • You must not currently take vitamin D, estrogen, or medicines for bone disease
