Who can take part

  • Your baby must be born between 24 weeks and 32 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy.
  • If your baby was born at another hospital, they must come to our NICU within 48 hours of birth.
  • Your baby cannot have any major birth defects or genetic problems that might threaten survival.
  • Your baby cannot have a liver condition called cholestasis.
  • You must be able to sign a consent form for both you and your child.
  • The study is only for babies born at our clinic or those transferred here quickly after birth.
