Who can take part

  • Be between 5 and 21 years old
  • Get more than 90% of calories through a feeding tube (no meaningful eating/drinking by mouth)
  • Have a swallow test showing aspiration (food/liquid going toward the airway), plus other signs of weak airway protection
  • Have long-term, not-worsening (static) brain/nerve issues such as cerebral palsy
  • Have breathing symptoms like coughing/choking or needing oral suction at least 3 times per week for the last month
