Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You had your first STEMI heart attack, and it was confirmed with blocked coronary arteries
  • Your heart pumping strength (left ventricle ejection fraction) is below certain thresholds and you have evidence of mitral valve “tethering/tenting” or specific heart muscle movement changes
  • You must be able to give informed consent and be medically stable (not in shock)
  • You have not had prior mitral valve surgery or procedures
