Who can take part

  • You must have had a STEMI heart attack and gotten a stent within 6 hours of symptoms starting.
  • You cannot be currently taking common heart or diabetes medicines like beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or SGLT2 inhibitors.
  • You should not have severe heart failure or kidney problems (GFR below 25).
  • You should not have a life-threatening illness that would make your outlook less than a year.
  • If you are a woman who can get pregnant, you must use birth control or have had sterilization.
