Acupoint electrical stimulation to speed recovery after GI tumor surgery

This study tests whether a noninvasive acupoint electrical stimulation timing during recovery can improve outcomes after gastrointestinal tumor surgery in older adults. If you qualify, you may receive timed stimulation soon after surgery and be followed during recovery.

Who can take part

  • You are 60 years old or older.
  • You had surgery to fully remove a gastrointestinal tumor (radical resection) under general anesthesia at Subei People’s Hospital.
  • Your overall health status is mild to moderate (ASA I to III).
  • Your frailty test score before surgery is under 5, and your D-dimer blood test is normal.
  • You can understand the study, agree to participate, and follow the study instructions.
  • You do NOT have cognitive problems (like dementia or delirium) before surgery.
