Noninvasive vagus nerve stimulation for PTSD symptoms

Who can take part

  • You are a veteran between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have a PTSD diagnosis that meets DSM-5 criteria (as assessed by the study team)
  • You do not have a history of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), or any moderate-or-worse traumatic brain injury
  • You are not pregnant (or you can’t have a positive pregnancy test)
  • You do not have certain brain/nerve problems (like meningitis or other neurological disorders), based on study screening
  • You are not currently on opioid or benzodiazepine treatment, and you don’t have serious recent substance use or active suicidal thoughts with a plan
