Vagus nerve stimulation for treatment-resistant PTSD

Who can take part

  • You have chronic PTSD (for at least 3 months) and have already tried at least one standard treatment that didn't work well enough.
  • You are between 22 and 79 years old.
  • You are willing to have a small device implanted in your neck that stimulates a nerve called the vagus nerve.
  • You are not currently getting a type of therapy called prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD.
  • You are not at moderate or high risk of suicide, and your neck is smaller than 18.5 inches around.
